Can someone help identify these 2 animes?

I dont have a pic of them so i'lltry and describe:

1st one is a giant robot anime where the protagonist's robot is named Suzano

2nd one is where this cubicle dweller reforms his old band to fight aliens



I have no idea what these animes are called. any help is very much appreciated.

The first one sounds like Gigantic Formula, the second sounds like The Legend of Black Heaven.

It's probably Susano, not Suzano. The former is the name of a Japanese god whose name is used in a lot of anime and manga. It could be Susano-O or Susanoo. Might be easier to dig up info with that spelling.

There is unquestionably a giant robot named Susano in Gigantic Formula, where I think all of the mechs were mythology-based. If it's not that show then it's probably an older series.

This series was commissioned by Toho Company, Ltd., to capitalize on their Yamato Takeru tokusatsu eiga from the same year. (That was also Toho's last non-Godzilla kaijuu eiga ever made, not counting the Mothra trilogy; it bombed at the box-office, and because of that, Toho will never do another original kaijuu eiga other than Godzilla again.)

To this day, I still want to watch Yamato Takeru. It has the sweetest mecha designs and I've never been able to lay hands on even raw episodes.
