There aren't any big "one stop shop" stores like WalMart or Target near where you live? Nowadays many big chain grocery stores will have an electronics section.
EDIT: Also, how much are you willing/able to spend? Knowing your budget will help decide what is a "good cam" for you. Remember that you're looking to purchase a camera, a stand, AND that since you're not buying it yourself at a store, you're going to have to pay for shipping costs (which, for something the size of a video camera and stand can get surprisingly expensive for someone who doesn't take it into account) to get this thing sent out to you.
Canon ZR960 is "recommended" for a MiniDV camcorder.
Canon DC410 for a DVD one.
Samsung SMX-F34BN for flash memory.
These are all about $250 new... so that leaves you with some money for a stand and shipping...
edit: Looks like the Samsung SMX-F34BN went up in estimated retail price since it was reviewed on Consumer Reports... A cheaper recommended flash camcorder is the Canon FS200.
