BREAKING NEWS: G.I. Joes raid Area 51, steal top-secret armor

And hell, it's not "just" that single actor, there's a million other things being done wrong in this film...
- Again, it's the director I worry about. A movie can have crappy actors but still be pulled off well if the director is any good; best example being David Bowie in "The Man Who Fell To Earth" (1973). Likewise, a movie can have a good actor that does terribly because the director is lame: Raul Julia as M.Bison in Street Fighter The Movie. This is mainly because a good director will probably say he can't work with the actor--while a great director is going to make that actor's entire life miserable tryign to give the best acting performance he can.

Now, the director isn't the only factor in the movie, of course. But ultimately he's responsible for the final product--whatever the audience sees on-screen is what the director views, in his own mind, is the best. A director has no right to complain about the actors he gets. It's his job to make them work well in the film.

*sigh* sadly, I'll probably buy some of the figures and vehicles. Partly because G.I.Joe as a toy brand doesn't exist in Australia (I NEVER got the 30th Anniversary figs), and partly because the figures I -will- be buying are the realistic ones that might not even be in the movie for more than 10 seconds, like Duke in actual military gear (not that black leather bodysuit), and Shipwreck.
