As a black hero creator myself, I`m proud to present this awesome site detailing every africano hero ever to done a mask. Well almost everyone, theres no mention of Jack Landors, T.J., Aisha Joel and others.

Huh, while I can't deny that that site is pretty damn pimp, I have to say that up until recently I've always hated black super heroes myself.

Most creators focus so much on make him black that they don't make him likeable or identifiable and thus usually they end up failing.

I just want black super heroes to just be heroes like any other and be accepted as such.

So far Power Rangers, Justice League and G.I. Joe are the only cartoons I've seen black characters done right.... they don't make them "the black character" (Zack not withstanding.. :anime: ), but just make them essential parts of the team with their own personalities.

Nice find, Jack... I might have to check it out sometime.

Gotta agree with you there. I've always gravitated more towards the Bishops and Mr. Terrifics of herodom than the more patronizing characters like Luke Cage or Coldcast. I'd rather read about superheroes that just happen to be black rather than black superheroes.

That's also why I continue to tolerate the incessant tokenism that plagues Power Rangers every year. I'll continue to be annoyed that they have "the black guy" on the show just so they have "the black guy" instead of just picking the best actor for the role and he just happens to be of African descent. But PR has at least respectful enough to avoid the blatant stereotypes of either negative or (supposedly) positive bent in most of their minority characters. Just portraying them as teens and young adults, nothing more.

What, no Asian Superheroes.com? No Irish Superheroes.com? No Latino Superheroes.com? Come to think of it, when is Latino History Month? And what about Asian Entertainment Television?
