Best/Wost Comic Book Costume....

for the superman lovers....i still cannot believe that wearing a glass can hide the fact that you are superman, lmao...

But I do love the reason they gave behind it. It's just so great that it works.

The reason I've always been told is that Superman is so powerful and such a god-like figure, that no one believes that he would have a secret identity. Everyone believes that he is Superman 24/7.

Anyway as far as costumes. My favorites are Statics 2nd TV costume, Black Lightnings new costume, Batman's of course, Almost all of Spiderman's (save the Spider-Armor). I really don't have any costume I hate. I don't like Superman's costume because it doesnt have gloves. Same with John Stewarts and really any costume without gloves but have sleeves. It just looks weird too me.

Well for starters I have to be blunt. To hell with the haters, Superman's costume is cool! As for his disguise it's at least as believable as a guy fighting in alleyways in a halloween costume and not getting shot in the mouth or a radioactive spider bite not killing you. Besides, the people in the story do now know what the reader knows and they don't see Superman up close all the time. I think it only starts to stretch with the Daily Planet crew and especially Lois because she sees both men up close all the time, but with Lois that's part of the comedic and romantic irony. The idea that Clark could be anything more than what he seems on the surface is so far out she doesn't make the connection. In the hands of lesser writers this makes her come off as a bitch but done right it's fun.

The rest of my top picks are: There's many that I like but these are my favorites.

Spider-Man
The Flash
Batman
Captain America (as in Steve Rogers and with wings on the mask included)
Wonder Woman
The Neal Adams redesign of the Robin costume for Tim Drake

The Worst: Simple fact is that there are too many to mention. There are hundreds of characters, especially obscure ones, and let's face it the 90's gave us some real stinkers. Liefeld characters alone could make up this list but for my list I'm gonna stick with ones people might be more familiar with.

Wolverine
Spawn
DiDio era Mary Marvel.
The Scarlet Spider
The current redesign of the Robin costume for Tim Drake.
Superboy's Joe Schmoe Wednesday at the Comic Shop look. Not to say it isn't a rockin shirt but come on!

I'll have to disagree with you on the Superboy "costume" if you wanna call it that. I actually love that sort of simple look. Honestly it would have been hard to do anything otherwise. Look at Supergirl. They basically just gave her superman's costume and did some girl-ish reimaginings with it. They couldn't do that with superboy, so they gave him the t-shirt and jeans. Simple. Easy to change into. Perfect.

Rob Liefeld was under the misguided belief that putting a barely there swimsuit/bikini/hot pants combo on a woman constituted a costume. Needless to say, it only worked with one of his characters: Riptide.

I think the X-Men have had some of the best costumes out there. Sure, there were some hit or miss instances, like temporarily reverting back to the blue and yellow variants briefly during Jim Lee's tenure, but he more than made up for it with the new costumes he made for them later. And honorable mention must go to Salvador Larocca for his brilliant X-Treme X-Men designs with the unified color scheme and individual touches for each member.
