Best Story & Plot on Batman & Joker

Which of these two films you thought had the better story & plot to focus on Batman & Joker?

Tim Burton's Batman (1989)

or

Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008)

Burton's movie for me. I wouldn't argue against TDK being a movie masterpiece, but it just lacked something that, up until then, has always made watching or reading anything Batman enjoyable. The '89 Batman movie had that in spades.

Also, so you all don't jump me again like you do every time, I loathed "Batman and Robin", and my favorite overall incarnation is Batman: TAS, so don't try to shove words in my mouth by telling me I only like "high camp" Batman.
