Eh, assholes are a dime a dozen in modern entertainment and in Heisei Kamen Rider. It would have been so easy for them to go that route with Skull but I am so glad they didn't.

True. But I still thought Kabuki's double crossing made him the best. Decieving bastard!.

because it's just a new form.

If that was the case I'd have to add in the other forms that debuted in the movies like Survive Modes, Blaster Form, Hyper Form, etc.

The Hibiki gang. Love those guys. Considering it's a lot of new Riders for one movie (plus 3 from the TV show and the rest of Hibiki's massive cast) each one felt distinct in personality and as Riders. In a few seconds, I know what Nishiki or Kirameki are all about. Kabuki's also a step up from the usual bad Rider in that I can actually see where he's coming from. He's still siding with the wrong team, but there's a tragic element to it. Also, the theatrical cut of his end is better than the DC or the comic version.

I've only seen the DC version, so how is his end handled in the original version? Hibiki just walks off after knocking him down and he's never seen again?

Pretty much as I recall, he dies from Hibiki's attack, rather than getting munched. While that does cut a bit of characterization for Kabuki, it feels more true to what the film had been building towards with the Hibiki/Kabuki confrontation. I also like the idea that Hibiki has to do something he's not exactly happy about to win.
