You can SO totally recognize his song style, what with constantly repeating the name of the show in the same kind of tone. That guy was frickin' EVERYWHERE! Dorothée and him probably sung the opening of everything dubbed in France in the 80s oO

I think sometimes in France, TV shows get promoted through pop music. Not too sure though (I never lived in France).

Wonder if Bernard Minet ever sang for Power Rangers?

I nthe 80s, they followed the Japanese model and sold TONS of discs with longer version of opening songs. They still sell compilations of those old songs nowadays.

You should see the ammount of merchandise that was sold back in the days when 'Goldorak' (Grendizer) first came out there... it was a marketing blitz the likes of wich the world had never seen and never saw until Pokémon 20 years later oO

One thing I like about French dubs is how they just take the original song and replace the lyrics XD it's a no-frill, cheap and strangely faithful-esque aproach to dubbing. A funny example is the Sugar Sugar Rune dub where the original opening was based on a French song to begin with XD full circle!

Anyway this led me to go around Youtube and find a bunch of old school stuff
