Been watching some old Transformers episodes on Youtube...

I don't know, I'd say pretending oldschool cartoons were so groovy is more of a fad. I personally don't get how anybody could even pretend that shows like He-Man and Thundercats are cool unless you're like 7.

It's no fad. I've been feeling this way since the first time I ever saw 'em. Sure not every episode was gold, but there were some unforgettable gems in there that still give me goosebumps today. Lion-O's Annointment Trial, He-Man's... drat, what was that episode... the one where he thought he killed an innocent?

It's nostatlgia mixed with the first hints of brilliance that we saw in some of the stand out episodes.

"The Problem With Power"

Lion-O's Annoitment Trials confused the heck out of me, given they were aired mid-way through the season in the UK, it looked like he deliberatly murdered Mumm-Ra at the conclusion, a little strong back then also. "Wow, a toy I collected just murdered someone".

The death naturally did'nt last, because he was back the next week, but was'nt the Annotiment Trials meant to end the first season?

Precisly my point, get past the bad stuff and there's more excellence to be found, I've just been seeing less hostility towards the shows that were getting bashed lately, so I'm still of the opinion it was just a fad.

I hate all the newer anime-style TF. It's like some kindergardener puked and they just smeared it all over scripts and called it good enough.

Just give me [Mainframe] Beast Wars and I'm insanely happy. Rattrap and Dinobutt "FTW".

About the subject: I hate 3rd season. I dont know what the majority of TF fans think. But I see a lot of them giving praise to Season 3 as being the best. Personally, I loved S1 and S2 but S3 was just all over the place. It just didnt catch my interest at all. (I'm speaking from a recently formed opinion. I didnt get to see S3 as a kid. All I saw was S1. But a while back I downloaded all the episodes and watched them.)

I cant say what it was, exactly. It wasnt the characters. But the stories and concepts just didnt interest me I guess. I still think S1 is the best.
