I saw “Be With You” in theaters when it first came out, and this article reminded me why I cried so much. It’s not just about death or fantasy. It’s really about love and holding on to hope even when it hurts. The story of the penguin may seem like a children’s tale, but it makes a strong message. Sometimes we tell stories to protect the ones we love. I admire how the father lets his son believe. I also understand why he does not explain everything right away. Not every child needs the full truth so young. I’m also a mother now, and I can’t imagine what I would do in that situation. I think So Ji-sub and Son Ye-jin had very good chemistry. Their acting helped me believe in the story, even the impossible parts.

I watched this movie last night because my girlfriend wouldn’t stop recommending it. I thought it would be boring, but I liked it more than I expected. The tunnel scene was emotional. I don’t usually cry during movies, but I got close. The dad trying to protect his son’s feelings really hit me.

“Be With You” explores grief in a soft and poetic way. What struck me most was how the story blends fantasy with reality without making it confusing. The boy’s belief is strong because it gives him something to hold on to. I also appreciated how the movie doesn’t make the father out to be weak for supporting that belief. It shows emotional intelligence and patience. Many parents struggle with how to explain loss. This film shows another way—one based on empathy and love. I think the amnesia twist helps the story feel grounded even though it starts with a magical idea.

The movie is very emotional, and I understand why people love it. But for me, it felt too slow in some parts. The story about the penguin was sweet, but I wish they had done more with the mystery of the woman in the tunnel. There are so many chances to explore deeper questions about memory and identity. Instead, it felt more like a fairy tale than a movie for adults. That being said, the acting is strong. Son Ye-jin gives a good performance, and the boy was believable. I think fans of softer dramas will enjoy it more than I did.

Watching “Be With You” was like holding a memory in my hands. The rain, the waiting, the love—it all felt familiar, like a dream I once had. I don’t care that the story is predictable. Some stories are not about surprise, but about how they are told. And this one was told with kindness. I believe children need soft stories when the world is hard. I also think parents need second chances, even if they come from magic or dreams. I watched this with my younger sister. We didn’t speak much after. We just held each other. That is enough.

I get why people love this movie, but I didn’t fully buy into the fantasy part. I’m a father myself, and I think letting your kid believe in something that can’t happen might cause more harm later. But I also get it—it’s tough to tell a kid their mom is never coming back. The acting kept me interested, especially from the dad. He felt real to me. I respect that the movie didn’t go too crazy with fantasy effects. It stayed calm and simple. Would I watch it again? Probably not. But I don’t regret watching it once.

This film reminded me of when my daughter was small and used to ask about her grandfather who passed away. I told her he was in the stars. We want to protect our children from pain. I understand this father. He made a difficult choice with love. Maybe it was not the most logical, but it was human. The tunnel scene was like a gift. For one moment, the impossible became real. And that is the magic of love. I think this movie is very suitable for family viewing. It teaches care and patience. I liked it very much.

I don’t usually go for sad stories, but I gave this a shot because my roommate was crying over it. Honestly? I didn’t expect a penguin story to punch me in the gut. But it did. And that tunnel scene? So random, but somehow it worked. The woman doesn’t remember who she is, and the man just… brings her home. If this was real life, I’d call the police. But in movie land, it made sense. I rolled my eyes more than once, but by the end, I was wiping them. So, okay, “Be With You.” You win.

I liked this movie very much. It is peaceful and soft. The little boy believes in something impossible, but it gives him hope. That is a nice message. I think sometimes we need to believe, not because it is true, but because it helps us feel better. The father is strong, even if he is also very sad. He tries his best. I also liked the music and the quiet way they showed love in the family. I think people should watch it when they want something calm. It helps the heart feel warm.
