BANDAI profits down...

Anime News Network said:
As expected, Bandai Co. of Japan has announced that its net profits for the fiscal year ending in March were down significantly (21%) compared to the previous year. Bandai blamed poor performance in America at Bandai America (BAI) as a significant contributor to its weaker profits.

Nonetheless, Bandai was still profitable, earning 11.23 billion yen (US$106 million) in net profits.

No mention of Bandai Entertainment (BEI), which is a subsidiary of BAI, was made.

BAI is expected to release fewer properties and focus more on strong properties such as Power Rangers in 2005

Basically they're losing money cos some people *ahem :D* have stopped buying BA's shitty merchandise and purchasing the Bandai of Japan stuff that IS worth purchasing. XD

They release 50 different bikes and battlizers that don't even appear on the show, don't release big mecha that are in the show... and then wonder why sales are down.

ED ZACHARY!

I got my friend hooked on Dekaranger but he buys the PR toyline. He told me that he will get the Command Center Zord when it comes out here in the US. I told him that it will never come out here (same case with the Revolver Mammoth and Brachio). So I purchased one for $180 with ship (of course some of it goes to me....heheheh...had to boost up the price). Thats BA's loss for not releasing the DekaBaseRobo and releasing some ghetto ass Power Ranger Turtle Van.

Note: guys, PR isnt the only brand name product BoA sells. Good lord, you guys babble and rant on like PR is the only figure head in their sales agenda. Get a clue, other factors attributed to their net loss. However, this does mean one thing. That they will be dropping their smaller brand titles and focusing on the bigger, house-hold name ones like Power Rangers. Meaning more toys, perhaps more Megazords, and hell. Im just hoping for more Villain figures. I dont give a flying **** how shitty you think the BoA toys are. Where's Hurricanger's Action Figure of Sandaru? oh. thats right. THEY DONT HAVE ONE!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Thats where Good old BoA stepped in and made their Vexacus figure, complete with Fan and Sword and damn good detail. Yeah. Thats right. I went there.

I'd give up a Sandaru figure for a DX Revolver Mammoth, DX Brachio, DX Deka Base Robo, Dragon Buckler, and entire Kakuranger weapon line up in a heartbeat and I know I ain't the only one.

I figured the other **** Bandai makes is the cause of the problem aswell. I do hope they drop all that other crap and stick to the PR stuff. I feel sorry for the collectors who have to deal with all of this crap.

Well, ya know what they say!! Good Quality = More Monney!!

And yes, Bandai America are inferior to Bandai Japan!! Especially the Chocogin stuffs!! :D

Plus another thing that Bandai could blame on poor sales is.. The Internet!!

It was probably BEI's fault since it's part of BAI. Because the anime market is so saturated(THANKS ADV) in the US, a lot of licenses aren't providing the profit they originally expected. ADV has already shown that they have been hit hard financially by downsizing their company staff..
