Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

I'm IRON MAN. Just a couple hours ago I took out a giant freaking robot (which they televised) and you're going to shoot at me with a bazooka? What are you, an idiot? (Well, he was, but still.)

Of COURSE he's surprised. The man's a genius and he expects other people to be, if not smart, then at least not STUPID.
If that was the case wouldn't he assume that no one would ever shoot at him just because he's Iron Man? I mean I find it hard to believe that a guy who routinely puts himself in conflict could believe that an evil organization that existed before he was even born, and that he likely had conflict with before would just stop shooting at him.

Yes he's a genius, that's exactly why the line sounded so stupid.

I'm really liking this show so far, it's got god writing, solid voice acting and has been delving into the Thor mythos wich I LOVE(looks like Loki's pulling the strings of the series). The only gripe I have is Iron Man's VA, sometimes he hits a RDJ voice perfeclty, but whenever he sounds off it really gets at me. Hopefully he'll get better over time & grow into the role.

...Really? How is the line any different from when someone gets a surprise shot in on a villain and then says, "Stay down." Do they ever?

And it's not like he was fighting Graviton or Titanium Man. It's a friggin' mook. And his opening move on the scene was to TRASH their biggest threat. You're going to shoot at him after THAT? And not even with any particularly impressive weapon--just a freaking bazooka.

This ain't Toku (and more importantly) and you're not a henshin hero. You're not just going to suddenly win a fight by firing your ineffective weapon and believing in yourself.

If there's any show that can make me like Wonder Man it'll be this one.

Simon hatred? Why?

Yes, Loki is the main villain. In the comics, he was the reason the Avengers were formed in the first place.

Of course not, and that would make sense if he was alone. He wasn't, the mook had thirteen heavily armed hydra foot soldiers with him. Positioned around the area, all with Bazooka's, and none of them looked particularly scared. Shouldn't that have clued a genius in? Maybe these guys weren't going to go out without a fight? I mean they've already attacked the united nations, and S.H.I.E.L.D. would have taken them out if not Iron Man. You don't think that maybe Tony should have known these guys threw logic out the window well before he arrived?

You need to read some classic Wonder Man/Beast stories.

I have. I still don't like Wonder Man. Every story I read about him tends to leave me thinking, "God, what a stupid character."

Most good stories I've read that feature Wonder Man I would've liked better if he hadn't been in them. Like the Wonder Man/Beast stuff is completely carried by Beast being interesting and fun while Wonder Man is being his usual boring-ass self.

Still, this show managed a likable Henry Pym, and previously I'd only ever liked one version of that character. So I'm willing to buy that this cartoon can make it clear why anyone has ever given a damn about Wonder Man.
