Speaking of number girl, they're a good band too.

I need to get into indie more. The only indie band I've really ever listened to is Second Saturday, and they don't count since, even though they're becoming known elsewhere, they're still from my town.

Agreed. So is The Yellow Monkey and Psycho le Cemu.

Bolt and MJRM praised these guys to the skies on more than one occasion, and after hearing "Rewrite" From Full Metal Alchemist, I'm starting to understand why. :thumbs:

I've never heard that song. Actually, thinking back, Houkai Amplifier was probably my first album. (Konayuki is an awesome song.)

Yeah, but AKFG is just like rock and Guitar Wolf is trash-thrash-smash-bash-crash-grease-grunge-garage-noise rock.

That's what I sort of figured. I don't really care for those sort of bands, to be truthful. I'm sure they're good, but they're not my style.

And Haruka Kanata is a great song, certainly not their best but better than a lot of stuff on Sol Fa, especially songs like My World and Mayonaka to Mahiru no Yume. I hadn't even heard of Naruto when I got Houkai Amplifier, so I can't claim to be in the majority that heard it through Naruto, but it's still one of my favorites.

My World and Mayonaka to Mahiru no Yume aren't my favorite tracks to be sure, I'd rate them about equal with Haruka Kanata. My favorites off Sol-Fa are Shindoukaku, Last Scene, 24Ji, Siren and Relight.


What's interesting to me about AKFG albums is that I don't like them at first. I listen to them, and I'm not all that crazy about them, so for weeks I don't listen to them. Then all of a sudden, I find one of the songs stuck in my head. Then the next thing you know, I'm listening to the album like crazy. (I realized this when I was sitting in Spanish class and for some reason, Fanclub's World Apart started playing in my head. Thankfully I had my trusty mp3 player with me so I got to give it a re-listen. I hate when songs are stuck in my head.)


And yes, the Yellow Monkey is awesome. I've never heard of Number Girl though. What do they sound like?

They're not horrible, it's just not the same, especially when playing their old stuff. It just doesn't seem right to continue without starship Billy. :disappoin

Hehe yeah. The first time I have heard them was when I went to Japan for the first time. After I got back, Bolt got me hooked with their other songs. The second time I went to Japan, I purchased their Nippon Budoukan Live DVD to support them. AKFG is the bestestestst.:buttrock:

I first heard about them from when I still watched Naruto and they did one of it's OPs. After that I bought an album and have been following them ever since. When I first got the album, I really didn't like any of the songs, but it was the Sol Fa album I got, not their best really. They're one of the few bands I still listen to everyday.
