Anyone remember Animorphs?

I ask this because I've been re-reading my copies of the Animorphs books(because I have that kind of free time) and I was wondering why so many people make a big deal with these books. I'll admit that these books are a hell of a lot better than other books I've read(I'm looking at you Twilight.) but they're so good that they deserve such extreme fanon, unlike Star Wars or Power Rangers for example.

For me, I watched the tv show first, then read the books. I was put off by the last book. For those who didn't read the series and will probably never will, the series ends in a cliffhanger. That ruined the whole series for me because I like endings. If you end a series with a cliffhanger, not planing on making a sequal series, that is fucking bullshit!

Power Rangers isn't that good, the acting is mediocre (except for a few special instances), the stories are predictable, and the dialog is cheesy. The only thing that makes it watchable is the excellent fights and universe fans have really discussed in great depth.

To compare the PR fandom which is very small compared to other major fandoms like Star Wars, Star Trek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, etc. is ridiculous. Those shows aren't aimed at children and are actually watchable (I might get attacked for that lol).

Comparing Animorphs to PR sounds reasonable, PR is deservingly bigger, but Animorph still has a cool concept that does have an appeal to it

The final book showed the author lost interest in the series. Interestingly enough the majority of the series was written by ghostwriters. I liked the books series and even the concept of the higher beings played in the background.

Dude, Power Rangers is good. Every American on this site is probably apart of the Power Rangers generation. And Power Rangers got all of us into Toku. Think of Power Rangers like Trekkies think of the Original Series.

Side note, to all the fans of Animorphs, you want this to be a discussion thread?

To be fair power rangers isn't that good just decent. Animorphs is quiet possibly on the same level at it is at this stage in it's life. No disrespect to the fandom as power rangers is something I'll never grow out of.
We can discuss animorphs here too though the thing is I don't think I remember a lot of it to make anything decent out of it. Just the big things like the Ellimist and junk.

TV show was pretty crappy. Loved the books though.

Wasn't there a rumor of a revitalization of the franchise some time ago?

You guys remember Animorphs? You know, the book series about five teenagers that can change into animals, that turned into a crappy tv show starring the guy who played Iceman in the X-men movies?

I bring this up because I realized that there is a LARGE fan community online. Almost as big a community as Toku. And I have to wonder: why? I mean I loved the books as a kid and I'll admit I like the tv show, but I'm wondering why its so popular? So if anyone has an answer to my question, could you let me know?

You guys remember that show about dudes in tights fighting rubber monsters and then getting in a giant voltron ripoff and blowing crap up? I heard they have a big online community, i wonder why? i just watched the latest few season's they were that good.

It's the same thing iwth us dude, we both have our reasons for liking our respective fandoms.

Now, now, everyone- both Power Rangers & Animorphs are undoubtedly the ****.

Both got kinda crappy towards the end.

But only one is experiancing a revival- Power Rangers.

I'm sure Animorphs would make an awesome movie, though!:coolshades:
