AntonBlast Blasts Onto Switch November 12

Nintendo’s Indie World showcase streamed early this morning, and the games shown off were heavily on the cozy and cutesy side….with one wild, noisy exception. ANTONBLAST is finally here. We’ve been waiting for this game ever since its Kickstarter campaign happened years ago. Dynamite Anton is an irate man with a very bushy beard who “had his spirit collection stolen by the devil” (I’m just reporting what they told me). The point is that it makes him angry enough to charge through levels and obstacles like a bulldozer, blowing up everything in his path. You can play as Anton or his genderswapped doppleganger Dynamite Annie, but however you do it, you’ve got to retrace your steps doubly as quick once you reach the end — or the bomb you set will go off on you! AntonBlast looks super fun. And to everyone who ignorantly thinks this is a Pizza Tower ripoff…it’s not. The two games share a lot of similarities (shaky manic art style, beating levels as fast as possible)

The whole concept sounds like a blast—pun intended. I mean, who wouldn't want to charge through levels like a bulldozer, blowing stuff up left and right? Plus, being able to play as either Anton or Dynamite Annie adds that extra spice to the mix. And hey, kudos for setting the record straight about it not being a Pizza Tower ripoff.

AntonBlast is finally landing on the Switch! About time, right? Been itching for some explosive action, and Dynamite Anton seems like just the guy to deliver. The whole idea of retracing your steps to avoid blowing yourself up adds an extra layer of challenge that I'm totally here for. And let's address the elephant in the room: no, it's not a Pizza Tower clone. It's carving its own path, drawing inspiration from the classics. November can't come soon enough!

Antonblast giving off Wario Land vibes? Count me in! Wario Land was my jam back in the day, so seeing games inspired by it gets me all nostalgic. Sure, Antonblast might share some similarities with Pizza Tower, but it's all part of that classic platformer charm. And hey, if it means I get to smash through levels with a mighty hammer and race against the clock, I'm game. Plus, it's coming to Switch!
