Allergy to nuts?

Faded.Memories

Im not straight but my boyfriend is
So yesterday I started to break out into hives on the inside of my wrist, and my leg. Immediately I began to think back to what I'd eaten, and if I'd changed laundry soap/lotion recently, which I hadn't.

So I went into work thinking I would be fine, and as the nighr progressed it got worse and worse, and now it's all over and so itchy and my fingers are all swollen and sore.

It got so bad that I went to the hospital this morning. The nurse practitioner made me go over everything I'd eaten in the past two days, and she thinks I have developed and allergy to cashews, since I ate some on Tuesday. Even though I have eaten them all my life, she says that some adults randomly develop allergies to things.

So she told me not to eat cashews for a few weeks, then eat one and see if I have a reaction. And she gave me drugs which may make me: happy/sad/euphoric/angry/agitated/have crazy ass dreams.

So now I am sitting here trying not to itch, while doped on those meds + Benedryl which is making me drowsy. The end.

Ouch. I feel your pain, F.M. I also have an allergy to nuts, which I now seldomly eat.

Though, Hay Fever (which I've got sadly T_T) has still dominated to my body every summer (though thankfully the wet British weather had suppressed the pollen spread).

I'm allergic to nuts. Peanuts, cashews and some other are fine with me, but not walnuts, almonds or pecans.

But they just make my mouth itch. I don't die or anything.

I broke out in hives once tho. That was odd and it seemed to happen out of nowhere. I just started sneezing uncontrollably and itching like a madman.

Eventually what ever it was worked its way through my system, but that was pretty disturbing.

I'm deeply sorry about the nut allergy, Faded.Memories. I do recall 1 minor league baseball team having a "Peanut-free" night.

I'm also deeply sorry about the dust allergy, Vash. Tempe is the last place for a person with your allergy.

I'm allergic to Brazil nuts. Back when I was a kid (about 11/12 or so ish) I ate a chocolate coated Brazil nut and had this weird reaction where I had these lumps all over my body, and so I had to spend a night at the hospital.

So no more Brazil nuts, whether they're chocolate coated or not.

Thanks guys. It just fucking SUCKS because I love cashews and peanuts. If it IS an allergy, I am going to have to go through different nuts one at a time to see which ones I can eat.

I now have several bags of cashews, almonds, and pistachios that I cannot eat for risk of breaking out again.

I'm allergic to nuts myself. People always taunt me since they claim PB&J is the best food ever.

*shrug* I can grill steaks, **** 'em.

My dad's a little shocked though. He's a huge peanut lover, he wonders how an allergy came through my genes.

It HUUUUURTS and it ITCHESSSSS make it STOOOOP.

I was able to sleep for about 3 hours, which was blissful as I wasn't scratching...and when I woke up it wasn't too bad. An hour later, the hives got worse than they had been when I woke up and now they're super itchy/painful. I am only supposed to take one of those pills a day, so I'm hoping that by taking benedryl it will ease the itching. It didn't really work earlier or so I thought...but this itching is SO bad. So I took more.

I hope I don't get drowsy again
