All Tokusatsu: Do you know this?

I admit I don't know a whole lot about the Ultra series (learning fast though).

I've put Moonlight Mask and other following series under the 'Superhero' genre only because that seems like what Toei seems to label it.

Having trouble with 'Giant Robo.' It's technically in the 'Superhero' realm but features giant monsters and a robot.

Also this Suki! Suki!! Majo Sensei aka We Love You, We Love You, Witch Teacher movie I'm having trouble finding information about. It features a hero called Andro Mask.

Some quite interesting finds, for me at least.

This show was a sequel to Akumaizer 3, Bibyun that used rejected Kamen Rider designs:

Henshin Ninja Arashi, I'll be watching this definitely:

And Roboto Keiiji, looks great:

He would probably end up best fit in the giant hero genre.

I always thought Akumaizer was a pretty cool show and never really got to see Bibyun but it is one of those odd Ishinomori shows I would love to see one day.

This is a very silly thread. As A. Kurenai said, anything that uses special effects is termed tokusatsu in Japan. Literally, it means "special effects."* The only reason it's become a specialized term outside of Japan is because the shows and movies they tend to create have a unique flavor all their own and using that word makes for an easy way to name and categorize them. When you start branching out of Japan you have to include things like Star Wars, Doctor Who, Jurassic Park, THEM!, and even Plan 9 From Outer Space! What's the point?

If you want to stick to just Japan and some honorable mentions from other countries, fine, but trying to include EVERYTHING kind of starts to get ridiculous.

* Close enough, anyway.

If your going for a complete list, you should probably also add shows like GARO, Madan Senki Ryukendo, Tomica Hero Rescue Force, and Tomica Hero Rescue Fire to your list

edit: don't forget other series like Jinzo Ningen Kikaider, Inazuman, and Cho Ninja Tai Inazuma

Yeah, I'll add those when I get done with Toei. I added Kikaider, Inazuman and I can't believe I forgot Condorman!
