All-Star Batman Is Back!

Miller's "cult" All-Star Batman and Robin finally released a new issue, suffice to say, it introduces Wonder Woman with the wonderful true-to-character line of....

"Out of my way Sperm Bank" (elbowing a guy in front of her)

ASSBAR is the perfect name for this book.

All-Star Batman and Robin is back. ..why?

Franks superhero work is ridiculously overated. Just alot of cheap grimschlock and every heroic character is turned into a total tool. I wish to God he would quit attempting anything with Superman since he seems to be incapable of grasping even the slightest clue about who that character is. Don't give me the tired old line about how we have Frank Miller to thank for bringing Batman back to his roots. O'Neil and Adams did that long before him and kept the characters nobility in the process. All Frank did was make him a miserable, unsympathetic dumbass. Is there any female in ASSBAR who doesn't act like a crazy warrior hooker?

Jim Lee's art is good at least considering the cynical garbage of a script he's drawing. Though Wonder Womans headband coming down to her nose is awful and I'm shocked Frank didn't tell the colorist to make those silly stilletto heels clear just to complete his Wonder Ho take on her.

Because it's probably the most fun, blatant piss-take on Batman and Miller's own success in years? If you can't laugh at yourself

The comic is a commentary on how people are roped into buying anything with a big name attached to it, then when they look at the dazzling artwork and generic one-liners direct from Sin City, the target audience All-Star is poking fun of will keep swallowing it just to bitch and complain rather than enjoy it for what it is.

And Superman was always a worthless tool outside of the movies unless someone good wrote him, heck "Tower of Babel" saw the entire JL fall thanks to the use of traps Batman created to kill them if they went renegade. Whilst it was'nt Batman's doing, the traps proved the DC's most powerful are useless against a common individual, and that's why people love the character and Miller's version. Who the **** wants these guys running around when there ticking time bombs and in Supe's case, wll kiss anyone's ass if there in a posistion of preserving national security

Batman is an ass-kicking, bitter, cynical motherfucker, a "real" character as opposed to the ham and eggs of the JL, look at DC's long line of current storylines, "Identity Crisis", "Infinite Crisis" and "52" have since helped to reinvigorate DC, by making the heroes and the universe darker, harder-edged, more violent, and more flawed. Something that's "real"

The notion that any of those books are realistic is really laughable. They're not realistic, just negative.

There as real as the universe demands of the characters,, and who the hell cares if it's mostly negative? It has an uplifting message that reddems the characters, you can't get there without drama. If anything were positive, you'd have the Silver Age material back with countless imaginary stories every five months to make up for the lack of negativity

Where are you from? The 1950's? Lighten the hell up, it's just a fucking comic.
