It's airing tonight in Canada. I figured since I'm off from work tonight I would check it out. Is this a good movie or what?.

Eh. Maybe it's just me, but after hearing about how good it was supposed to be, and then after actually seeing it, I was pretty underwhelmed. But hey, you might not feel the same, so why not?

Well its on TV, no downloading and it's free so I mine aswell.

It's from 1980 so i'm gonna take a shot and say it's good since most **** from the '80s is good. Except Prince.

I was told JYB does a voice for one of the characters aswell.

Actually, Akira was from 1988 (the manga was from 1985), so it's very close to 90s territory.

Incidentally, I saw the Streamline dub in theaters twice in November of 1990 at the Film Forum in NYC! Back when I was a teenager.

Overall the movie was pretty fucked up, in a good way. I enjoyed it.

I knew exacally who JYB was voicing. It was badass to finally hear his VA abilities.

I liked a lot. If you're watching the english version and if you watched Digimon season 1 english version, then you'll hear some familar voices along with JYB. From read about the movie afterward, in japan, it was the first anime to have the voice overs done before the actual animation was done so that the lips of the characters actually match the sounds. Go enjoy it but as a warning, things could get pretty graphic.
