Advice shopping on Yahoo Japan?

Im looking to start shopping on yahoo japan soon but which of the many auction services (rinkya, celga etc) do you guy recommend? How much are such services likely to cost me as it look pricey? How do I go about ensuring I win an auction in the first place?

Any help or advise from those more versed in Yahoo Japan would be much appreciated.

i'm not sure how those services work exactly..but from what i understand you tell them up to how much you're willing to bid on the item for, and they will handle the shipping and receiving agreements with the seller... and then send the item to you..they usually take ~10-15% of the cost of the item as their fee and ...i think its uber pricey

as for using yahoo japan itself... it got really hard since they made the credit cards jpn only.... grr i shouldn't have lost my debit card ToT cuz i had an account on it..but i can't add a new one now ToT ... newayz its basically impossible to do it from abroad... you'll need to have someone living in jpn to send your packages to..cuz many of the services that you would need to use to send your money..are not offered abroad..such as sending monies directly to their post office bank account.......seeing as we don't have such things here...its impossible to do

I am in the same boat, planning on using YJA, I personally am going with Rinkya. I have heard from other people very good reports about them. As far as commision, it is nothing compared to what is being charged for some of these items on ebay. I almost had a heart attack when I first saw the prices on YJA, I thought I hit the freaking jackpot. The commision, which is not as bad as it sounds, is a drop in the bucket compared to how much ebay sells for. Plus it is so much easier than trying to use YJA another way. Unless you live there, which I don't.

there're sellers on ebay who have this middleman service too. just search for 'yahoo japan' on ebay.

I have used Shopping Mall Japan's proxy service and I'm very pleased with them. Keep in mind that their fees are obviously HIGH but it is quite worth it if you are looking for rare stuff. I bought some JPOP and Tokusatsu stuff with them over the years.
