ACEN 2008 - The Official Pre-Game Thread

Let me say this from the start, I'm certain I'll be at ACen...

All those who are planning on flying to ACen should listen up:
For those of you who may not know, there has been a development concerning REAL ID, the program instigated by Homeland Security that would have all state ID's & Driver's Licenses be linked together into a mainframe & would pretty much become standardized in look & qualifications for getting one. (Essentially negating stated ID's in favor of a National ID with biometric data & no proof that it's tamperproof.) However, there are a number of states in the Union that have been fighting this tooth & nail and this has caused a massive clusterfuck around the time of ACen.
The REAL ID was set to come online this year but was pushed back to 2011...unfortunately the Federal Government (in it's infinite wisdom[/sarcasm]) is as of now planning to enforce a portion of the act regarding those states who are not bending over & taking it up the ass. All residents in those states (info can be found here on Wiki under "Controversy & Opposition") will be forced to have alternate Identification to enter federal buildings & board airplanes...even if the trip is within national borders. They will have to be verifiable ID's (like a Passport) or something of that level.
This basically means that for those within the US who will fly to Chi-town, there is a good chance that your License will not be accepted by the TSA & allow you to board the plane. I found this out thanks to a friend of mine who moved to Washington State recently & found out that his new residence is among the 3/5 of the Union that will have non-valid identification to enter Federal bldgs & board airplanes. The stipulation goes into effect May 11, 2008 - just before ACen. States are allowed to get waivers but to get them they'll have to admit in principal to the REAL ID program, which is the Catch-22 that is indicative of this Broken Government. Now I'm hoping that there'll be one hellava uproar that'll get this to back down & not pressure the states into accepting this fucked up Federal standard but all the same, all of you who are planning on flying to ACen better check & see where you state stands & find out what you may need or you may have to figure out alternate modes of transport to the Hyatt.
Now...to get off the very sad upper portion I'm wondering something Keith: If Mi Casa es Su Casa & you pretty much stay in the Freakin Suite does this mean that the Suite'll become home to somewhere in the neighborhood of two dozen members of JAMS, HJU or both?
We might need a bigger suite....as if that was possible.
