AbaRanger Vs. Dinothunder

Well what I'm saying is that those who are not familiar with sentai are going to think that Japan is trying to copy power rangers.

That'll probably be until you tell them that Super Sentai has been around since the 70's and show them a bit of GoRanger, Denziman, Bioman, etc..

I think that Dino Thunder episode's surposed to be similar to that episode of The Simpsons where Homer disovers a Japanese cartoon character who looks like him called "Mr Sparkle".

And I think I can see why this thread's gonna be popular.

Sentai fans get waaaaaaaaaay too sensitive about this episode whose purpose was to celebrate Sentai and cultural differences.

First off, Conner saying that they're copying Power Rangers is being ironic. Second, there's no other way to frame it and keep the integrity of their own show.

Conner complaining about the show was so that we'd have someone to walk the journey with of opening your mind to new things like Sentai. If everyone was as open minded as Ethan and Kara then there'd be no conflict to resolve which is what a story is about.

Conner was playing the part of "that guy" who always shows up in our fandom. "Power Rangers sucks cuz it's not excactally like Sentai. Their Red Ranger is nothing like ours!" But eventually Conner opens up and because of it is able to see the good in something different.

Lost and Found in Translation was awesome. Sure not every dub line was gold, but in the end it showed how getting into something new and different ain't a bad thing.
