A "Wii" Wrist Strap Problem...

Thank goodness I didn't buy a wii. :P I have butterfingers (can't throw, can't catch) and I drop my remote ALL the time (broke it three times before the last time it broke was the final time for it). Thankfully, Dish Network has an insurance plan and sent me a replacement for free. Nintendo should take a page from Dish Network and replace Wii remotes when they break. Accidents happen regardless of how careful or careless a person is.

 I actually dropped the wiimote thinking it was a regular remote. Instead of it landing on the couch, it just swung around and hit me.

Why would I expect it to break? Because that cord looked pretty thin. It wasn't as thin as the pictures I had seen made me believe, but as I said I wouldn't be surprised to see it break. I doubt I could break it easily myself, but I do have some friends that would probably go a little crazy with the system.

I don't know, a lot of this reads as if people that would end up with broken straps are retards. Wiping your hands? Wow, I never thought of that. Nintendo made a system that people can really get into... People are going to get into accidents. I doubt anyone is actively trying to break the strap to see the wiimote fly. But you know, it hasn't happened to me, so I guess it just doesn't matter?

I wasn't directing my rant at you. Mostly at the morons who call me everyday over stupid **** about their system. And when they're actually describing the "accident" 9 times out of 10 my 'Bullshit Meter' is just flying off the scale. It is SUPER RARE that this would actually happen, and I think a lot of people are just making it up when they call, cause they dropped their remote, it broke, and they don't want to pay to get it fixed.

I know I will be one of the dumbasses that breaks my wrist strap, though. Not because of how hard I swing it, but because at least once every time I play, I forget about the wrist strap and attempt to grab the remote with my other hand and put it down on the couch. I keep almost ripping the thing off my wrist the hard way. :)

you know I honestly can't even comprehend this, I have 3 Wii games, have had LOTS of friends over, with the thing swinging this way and that. and we've NEVER had a problem.... I just don't get this.

The scene when a guy throws his Wiimote out his window, flies into a moving car that was passing by the house, knocks over the guy who is driving's coffe on his lap, causes him to crash his car which triggers an multiple car pile up ending with 2 gasoline trucks crashing into the mess and a huge fireball engulfs the reck of vehicles killing everyone.

Or maybe the Wiimote flies off some guys hand, lands outside of his window on the grill of another guy who happens to be grilling at the time right on his front lawn. The Wiimote's batteries react to the heat of the grill before it's removed off of it, the Wiimote explodes and fragments of the Wiimote are embedded in the guy's skull. Killing him.

Maybe the guy is playing and the Wiimote flies off his hand, hitting the ceiling fan, the fan is knocked off and chops the guy's head off when it falls down while spinning.

There are so many possible things these faulty Wiimotes can do.

It doesn't take a dumb person to make a accident like that. This can happen to anyone.

Even me. :P

No excuse for the Wiimote's design flaw.
