Some K-drama fans were disappointed with “Twelve”, the fantasy/supernatural, action series about angels fighting evil spirits. Although from the very first scene all the viewers knew Ma Dong-Seok was Tae-san, i.e., Tiger, the leader of the angels. But IMHO … it went downhill from there. Twelve – The Gate of Hell is Open? AGAIN?! ♦

Y’all really thought “Twelve” was gonna be the next big thing? I mean, Ma Dong-Seok is a total legend, but sometimes even he can’t save a plot that feels like it’s been recycled from a hundred other dramas. Like, we get it, the Gate of Hell is open… again. Can we get some new material, please? 😂 What were they thinking? I’m all for supernatural shenanigans, but it needs to be fresh! Anyone else feel like we’ve seen this angel vs. evil spirit showdown a million times?

I watched “Twelve” and I agree that it did not meet my expectations. The actors were talented, especially Ma Dong-Seok, but the fight scenes were confusing and slow. I felt that the story had potential, but it did not develop in an interesting way. Reading this list of seven alternatives makes me feel excited because I need something fresh in the supernatural genre. “The Guest” seems very interesting because I enjoy stories where a team must combine their skills to face strong evil spirits. I also like the idea of “Tomorrow” since the theme of guiding lost souls is unique and emotional. I plan to watch at least three of these dramas this month, and I hope they will be better executed than “Twelve.”

Honestly, I stopped watching “Twelve” after the first few episodes because it felt too slow and the CGI looked cheap. I like supernatural K-dramas, but pacing is important for me. I am glad this article shared other options. “The Fiery Priest” caught my attention because a hot-tempered priest solving a serious case seems different from usual fantasy dramas. “Revenant” also sounds exciting, especially because of the combination of ghosts and mystery. I think the key to a good supernatural drama is tension and believable action. I hope these dramas can provide that.

I finished “Twelve” and felt disappointed like the reviewers. The concept of angels fighting evil spirits was good, but the story and fight direction were not satisfying. Looking at the alternatives, I want to try “The Judge From Hell” first. The idea of a demon occupying a judge’s body to punish murderers in a limited time is intriguing. It is something different from regular ghost stories and can keep me interested because of the challenge and suspense. I also notice that many of the listed dramas are very recent, like 2025 releases. It is good that there are fresh stories for viewers like me who want new content.

I think “Twelve” failed because it tried to do too much with too little focus. The main character was clear, but the enemies were weak and the story lost its tension. From this list, “The Haunted Palace” is very interesting. A young shaman trying to live normally but facing many ghosts, plus an Imugi helping her, sounds very promising. I also like stories with strong female leads, so this will probably appeal to me. I usually like dramas that balance action and emotional depth, so I hope this one delivers both.

I did not watch “Twelve” because I read that the fight scenes were poorly done. I am happy to see alternatives because I love supernatural K-dramas. “Dear Hongrang” sounds especially interesting because of the mystery and revenge elements. The idea of a boy returning after many years and facing a giant snow monster is different and unusual. I like stories where the main character must solve a puzzle or fight strong enemies to achieve justice. I will add this to my watchlist immediately.

For me, the biggest problem with “Twelve” was the pacing. The fights were repetitive, and the story sometimes slowed down for no reason. I enjoy supernatural stories, but they need consistent tension. Reading this article makes me curious about “Tomorrow.” Guiding souls and preventing suicides is a topic that is emotional but also offers creative storytelling possibilities. I think this drama can have meaningful messages while also providing supernatural action, which is something I missed in “Twelve.”

I finished the first three episodes of “Twelve” and I was disappointed by the lack of creativity in the fights. I like action and fantasy, but the enemies attacking one by one felt like a mistake. Looking at this article’s list, “Revenant” is the drama that excites me most. A young woman possessed by a demon teaming with a professor to uncover hidden truths sounds like a strong story with suspense. I enjoy dramas that combine supernatural elements with investigation and mystery. I hope this drama is well-directed and has good pacing.

I watched “Twelve” because of Ma Dong-Seok, but I could not enjoy it after a while. The story was weak and the CGI was not convincing. This article helped me find new options. I am interested in “The Guest” and “The Fiery Priest” because they seem to combine real-world crime or investigation with supernatural elements. I prefer dramas that mix mystery and fantasy because it keeps the story more grounded. These dramas might give a better experience than “Twelve.”
