New Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Patch Essentially Lets You Walk Through The Game

I think it's awesome that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is becoming so accessible across all platforms. It really opens up the game to a broader audience, especially with features like this new patch. The idea of essentially walking through the game sounds intriguing; it could really help new players who might feel overwhelmed by the original's complexity.

I'm a bit torn though, part of me loves the challenge of classic RPGs, but I can see how this could enhance the experience for many. What do you think? Is this approach a good way to introduce newcomers, or does it take away from the essence of the game?

Square is destroying Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth with this patch. They give everyone level 65 start and unlimited hp like the game is for weak players who cannot handle real difficulty. This is what happens when companies listen to casuals and feminists who cry about everything being too hard. Real fans who played the original on hard mode get nothing while normies get free wins. The third game will be even worse because they think everyone needs training wheels now. I am done with these modern remakes that pander to people who never touched a controller before.

Finally they admit the game is too difficult for most players so they add this head start mode. Level 65 with strong materia right away? This is pure woke nonsense to make sure no one feels bad about losing. Back in the day we died hundreds of times and learned from it. Now they hold your hand the whole way. I bet the developers are scared of bad reviews from girls who play on easy. Square Enix lost all respect with this. The series died long ago and this just proves it.

Square Enix knows their audience changed. They added level 65 start because too many new players complain the game is unfair. This is anti male design, making everything simple so women and zoomers can finish without effort. Real gamers get punished with max level 70 lock while others get god mode. The original FF7 respected your time and skill. These remakes spit on that. I am tired of seeing good series ruined by people who want participation trophies in video games.

Lol they waited this long to add cheats because the game sold bad to normal fans. Now with unlimited hp and 9999 damage you can walk through everything. This is what wokeness does to rpgs. They remove challenge so nobody feels inferior. I played the hard way and now they make fun of that effort. The third game will probably start you at max level. Square does not care about dedicated players anymore. Just give money to casual crowd.

As someone who likes speedrunning, this update is kind of interesting but also messy. Starting at level 65 could actually break routing in a weird way because early-game progression is part of optimizing. If you remove that, you basically create a separate category. The toggleable cheats like 9999 damage and unlimited resources make it even more split. You’d probably need new rules just to keep runs fair. On the other hand, it might open up practice tools for bosses or late-game segments, which is useful. I don’t hate it, but I think it fragments the community a bit. People will need to agree what counts as a “real run” versus a boosted mode run.
