It's great to see recognition for films like F1: The Movie and KPop Demon Hunters! It's interesting how sound design can elevate the storytelling in both television and film. Did any of the TV sound winners catch your attention?

KPop Demon Hunters getting Best Animated Sound Mixing makes so much sense. The music and action were always perfectly timed, and the voices were clear even with all the chaos. I like animation, but sometimes the sound is just okay. This one felt different because every punch, song, and funny moment had the right impact. I didn’t realize how much work goes into blending music and sound effects until I watched behind-the-scenes clips. It’s impressive. I hope they continue making sound a big part of animation, especially when music is a central part of the story. Some of the nominees like Zootopia 2 looked good, but I feel like Demon Hunters really mastered the mix.

Becoming Led Zeppelin winning for Best Documentary sound makes total sense to me. Music documentaries are tricky because you have to mix interviews, live music, and old recordings all together. This one did it perfectly. I could hear the instruments clearly, and the vocals sounded natural. It didn’t feel like anything was overpowering anything else, which is rare. I feel like the sound mixing helped me feel the energy of the performances while still connecting with the stories behind the band. Some documentaries just sound flat, but this one made me want to keep watching just to hear the music. It’s a good reminder that good sound can make a big difference in non-fiction films too.

Adolescence winning for limited series sound was interesting because it’s all about restraint. The quiet moments were so tense and emotional, and the sounds they did include were very intentional. I think it shows that sound isn’t just for big moments or action. Sometimes silence is just as powerful, if not more. I like seeing this kind of approach recognized because it’s different from the usual loud, flashy sound design. It makes me pay more attention to how sound affects storytelling.

This made me smile. Two more classic episodes back from the dead. The Daleks' Master Plan is such a legendary lost story and getting any parts of it feels like a miracle. It was considered too violent for foreign markets back in the day which says a lot about how different TV rules were. Nice to know the three surviving ones will have company on iPlayer soon. Classic Who keeps giving.
