I think the idea of giving Magee her own song makes sense. She has always been strict but reliable, and the video shows that clearly. The dream sequence made me laugh because it feels like something a stressed manager would imagine after a long day. The song is short, but it works for what it tries to do. I also appreciate that Sarah Chalke is singing it herself. I prefer when voice actors stay involved in every part of their character. The new special looks more intense than the older ones, but I do not mind. I like when Christmas media tries something different.

The new song feels like a funny look inside Magee’s mind. The dream sequence shows how much she wants control, but it also shows how tired she is. The office scenes made me smile because they feel very exaggerated on purpose. The minute length was enough to show her personality without dragging. The new special looks more action-heavy than the older ones, and that surprised me. Still, the return of the old cast makes me want to watch. The seal pup character also seems like a cute addition. Planning to check it out on streaming because the timing works better for me.

The return of Wayne and Lanny is honestly the main reason I plan to watch. Their partnership has always been fun. The song about Magee is a nice extra, but I am more excited to see the story about them getting in trouble with Santa. The action tone in the trailer looked unexpected, but not in a bad way.
