Our Second Quick Look At Liam Hemsworth As The Witcher

We’ve got a full trailer for The Witcher Season 4 today. There is now less than a month between us and the return of this show, after an extended break of more than two years. What are Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri up to now? If the trailer’s any indication, the goal remains the same. Geralt’s mission is to slay a lot of monsters and, once again, hunt for his adopted daughter. Yennefer’s role is to yell and make CG magic balls appear, and sometimes kiss Geralt when he’s close enough to her vicinity. As for Cirilla…well, let’s hope her storyline isn’t going where the previous season implied. “Evil Ciri” is not what I want to see at all…this entire society seems to revolve around her, and if Ciri becomes a bad person that world has no hope. And why would I want to watch Geralt fight his own kid? That better not be the ending to this. I guess if worse comes to worse there is always Witcher 4: The Video Game, coming soon from CD Projekt Red, where Ciri is the main character and YOU decide what she does. That game may or may not beat Witcher Season 5 […]

I am not watching this version, and I will say it clearly — there is no Witcher without Henry Cavill. He was not just playing Geralt; he was Geralt. He respected the source material, understood the books, and defended the lore when the writers went off-track. Now they replace him with Liam Hemsworth, and we are supposed to pretend nothing happened? No. This feels disrespectful to both Henry and the fans who supported the show from the beginning.

Henry fought for accuracy and consistency, and instead of listening, Netflix chose to ignore him. That is why the show lost direction after Season 2. The writing became messy, and the soul of the story disappeared

I feel like Netflix is rushing these last two seasons. When they film back to back, it sometimes hurts creativity. The actors and crew might not have enough time to polish things. Still, I like the idea of wrapping it up soon instead of stretching it forever. For me, the trailer looks fine, but something feels missing. The atmosphere that made Season 1 so magical is gone. The tone now feels more like a generic fantasy show. I will still tune in because I want to see how they end it, but I do not expect the same spark it once had.

Remember guys, it’s not Liam’s fault, it’s the producers. Henry Cavill would not have left The Witcher if the team behind it had respected the source material. Henry was very clear from the start — he loved the books and wanted the show to stay faithful to them. He was passionate about the character, even correcting details to make sure Geralt was portrayed accurately. But when the writers started taking big liberties and ignoring the essence of the story, that’s when things fell apart.

Liam just accepted a job. He didn’t push Henry out. The blame should go to the producers who refused to listen to the actor who actually cared the most about the lore. They turned The Witcher into something it was never meant to be, and that’s why Henry finally walked away.

I feel sorry for Liam because he’s stepping into a role surrounded by tension he didn’t create. But honestly, the damage was done long before he arrived. If the producers had just stuck to Sapkowski’s vision, Henry would still be there, and fans would still be excited.

When Liam stands there in armor, silent and brooding, he visually fits the role. But the moment he speaks, it feels off. Henry’s voice had this calm strength, that perfect mix of control and weariness that made Geralt believable. He didn’t need to say much to make an impact — even his grunts had meaning. Liam’s delivery feels like an imitation, not a natural continuation.

Henry gave Geralt depth and humanity, even when the writing failed him. You could sense that he carried years of pain and experience behind every word. Liam’s version sounds like someone pretending to be tough, but without the weight that comes from living through Geralt’s journey. It’s not entirely Liam’s fault — the audience built a connection with Henry’s version for years. Replacing him without honoring what he built makes it impossible to accept anyone else.

So yes, visually, Liam “looks” like Geralt. But when he speaks, you realize how much of the character was Henry himself. You can change the actor, but you cannot replace the soul he brought to the role. Justice for Henry Cavill.

I understand why so many fans are upset about Henry leaving, but I really hope people don’t direct that anger at Liam Hemsworth. He didn’t steal the role; he accepted a job that was offered to him. Any actor would do the same. It’s not fair to blame him for the studio’s decisions or the behind-the-scenes issues that pushed Henry out.

Liam has a difficult task ahead. He knows the fans loved Henry, and he will always be compared to him no matter how hard he works. That kind of pressure is not easy. Instead of hating him before the season even starts, why not at least give him a fair chance to show what he can do? Maybe his interpretation will surprise us. It might not be the same, but it can still be good in a different way.
