Our First, Quick Look At Liam Hemsworth As The Witcher

Recently, Netflix decided to cash in its coins to The Witcher, preemptively capping the show off at five seasons. That leaves two more, and both are burdened with the unpopular recasting of Liam Hemsworth as the title character, replacing Henry Cavill. A lot is riding on Hemsworth getting as close to Cavill as he possibly can (but not too much, given the show’s lame duck status). Today Netflix put up a brief (and we mean brief) video clip of the new actor in costume. See what you think of him: It IS pretty close, we have to admit. However, we haven’t heard him yet. It’s doubtful Hemsworth can replicate Cavill’s gravelly tone of voice. Regarding Season Four, which is now in production: “After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other,” says Netflix. “If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find

Intrigued! Cavill leaving was a blow, but Hemsworth can definitely pull off the look. The real test will be his performance – can he capture Geralt's gruffness and brooding intensity? Voice acting is crucial too. Here's hoping they don't rely solely on mimicking Cavill.

This is an outrage! Cavill IS Geralt! Netflix just doesn't understand what made the show great in the first place. Hemsworth? Really? Throwing a pretty face at the role won't cut it. Cavill brought Geralt's stoicism, his gravitas to life.
And five seasons? Predetermined? Who greenlit this mess? They're ruining a perfectly good show with this cash grab. Shame on them! They're spitting in the face of the fans who made the show a hit. This teaser is a slap in the face. A blurry nothing-burger. No lines, no fight scenes, nothing to prove Hemsworth can handle the role.

I won't watch it. Nobody I know will watch it. This is a mockery of The Witcher and everything it stands for. Cavill deserved better. The fans deserved better. We built this show, and Netflix is tearing it down with their agendas.

Two thoughts: one, Netflix capping the show? Feels rushed. Two, Hemsworth? I dunno. Great actor, sure, but Cavill embodied Geralt for me. This is gonna take some serious convincing. This teaser isn't enough. Need to see him deliver lines, fight monsters. Jury's out.

Honestly, the recasting stings, but I'm willing to give Hemsworth a shot. As long as he stays true to the core of Geralt from the books – the monster hunter, the hardened loner with a moral compass. That gravelly voice thing? Not the biggest deal. It's about capturing the essence of the White Wolf.Look, Cavill will be missed, but the show must go on, right? Hemsworth looks the part, that's a plus. More interested in the story – war-torn Continent, Geralt's crew scattered? Sounds intense. Give me a good plot, good acting (Hemsworth better step up!), and I'm happy.

Liam Hemsworth as Geralt? No thanks. The dude couldn't even keep it together in a marriage, how's he gonna handle strigas and portals and all that? Still can't believe what he did to Miley, queen that she is. Netflix putting him in this role feels like a giant middle finger to all of us who were Team Miley.

Plus, recasting Geralt in the middle of the show? Talk about butchering a story. Hard pass. My eyeballs are rolling harder than a wrecking ball at a demolition derby. I'll stick to re-watching Miley's iconic performances and pretend this whole Witcher mess with Liam doesn't exist.

I think it’s great that Netflix is taking the risk with Liam Hemsworth. While I’m a huge fan of Henry Cavill and his work as Geralt, I believe Hemsworth has the potential to bring something new and exciting to the character. The brief clip looks promising, and I’m curious to see how he handles the role. The plot for Season Four sounds compelling, and I’m eager to see how the separation of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri will unfold. Change can be difficult, but it can also lead to growth and new opportunities. I’m hopeful for what’s to come.

I’m really not happy about this recasting. Henry Cavill was born to play Geralt, and it’s hard to imagine anyone else doing justice to the role. Liam Hemsworth might look the part, but I have serious doubts about his ability to capture the essence of Geralt, especially the voice. The show has been one of my favorites, and I worry that this change might be its downfall. The plot sounds interesting, but if the main character doesn’t feel right, it could ruin the whole experience for me. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but my expectations are pretty low.

I’m a bit skeptical about this change. Henry Cavill was such a perfect fit for Geralt, and his departure is a significant loss for the show. Liam Hemsworth looks similar, sure, but looks aren’t everything. Cavill’s deep, gravelly voice and his nuanced portrayal of Geralt are hard acts to follow. The upcoming season’s plot sounds intriguing, with the characters separated and facing new challenges, but I can’t help but feel that the recasting might detract from the overall experience. I hope Hemsworth proves me wrong, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’m pretty disappointed about the recasting. Henry Cavill was perfect as Geralt, and I’m not sure Liam Hemsworth can fill his shoes. The brief clip doesn’t give us much to go on, and I’m particularly concerned about his ability to capture Geralt’s distinctive voice and presence. The storyline for Season Four sounds promising, but the main character’s portrayal is crucial to the show’s success. I’m going to watch with an open mind, but I can’t help feeling a bit skeptical about this transition.
