“Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond” is the fan project we never knew we needed but are so glad we got. It’s the work of 40 passionate fans, spearheaded by Maximilian Dood, a YouTube content creator known for his epic fighting game gameplay videos and his famous “Marvel vs. Capcom 3” combos tutorial series called “Assist Me.” They were like, “We can fix this.” Remember “Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite” from 2017? It was supposed to be the next big thing for the series, but instead, it became the franchise’s biggest letdown. They went all realistic with the graphics, which just didn’t cut it. And let’s not even start on Chun-Li – they made her look like she got hit with the ugly stick. The game changed the beloved 3 vs. 3 battles from “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3” to 2 vs. 2, which felt like a downgrade.
