009-1 the Anime! - Episode 001

Episode one of 009-1 is up on IGN to check out for free! Can’t say I know fully what the downlow on this is, other than the art design bares a distinct resemblance to a certain Cyborg 009 which is the team of heroes that Ishinomori-sama created before he brought us the immortal Gorangers. I’ve just watched the opening and this ain’t for kiddies, that’s for sure. Click on then drop into the forums to let us know what you think.

In other news, the demo for Project Sylpheed just hit LIVE. I’ve played it and so far it lives up to all the Wing Commander action and joy I’ve missed since Starlancer and given all the anime wiz-bang and pizazz that we come to expect from the folk over at Square Enix. If you’ve never heard about it… here’s a peak.

EDIT: I did some looking about courtesy of R5’s Mike Dent and found out that this isn’t a follow up to Cyborg 009, but a remake of one seriously killer 1960 live action show that seems like some kinda Japanese Charlie’s Angels only….well, cool. Check it out!

On the other hand, that's when I knew I was into the show... not to mention it actually was pretty good. Unfortunately my player stalled out about 7 minutes before the end.

That happened to me when I watched the first 30 minutes of A Scanner Darkly, and Guyver. :-/

Funny enough, 009-1 popped up on my On Demand cue and I watched it on my big screen. And yes, getting past the boobie guns, it was actually pretty good.
