I think it's awesome that the Super Mario Galaxy movie is sparking such discussion! The fact that there's a twist involving Peach has a lot of potential for interesting storytelling. As a fan of the games, I appreciate when adaptations take creative liberties, as long as they stay true to the spirit of the characters. It's interesting to see how people's perceptions of the movie vary, especially among casual viewers versus hardcore fans. I hope it finds a balance that satisfies both sides. What are your thoughts on how they’ve portrayed Peach in this twist?

I actually like the idea that Peach and Rosalina are sisters. It makes the world feel more connected instead of random. Before this, Peach being human in a place full of mushroom people always felt strange to me. Now it has a reason, even if it came from a movie first. I know some fans don’t like when movies change things, but Mario never had a strict story anyway. It was always simple. So adding something like this does not really break anything for me. It just adds more detail if you want it. Also, Miyamoto saying he might follow it in the games makes it more interesting. That means it is not just a one-time idea. I’m curious how they will show it in a game format though, since Mario games usually don’t focus on story that much.

I’m not fully sold on this change. I understand why they did it, because movies need more explanation, but it feels a bit forced to me. Peach and Rosalina being sisters sounds like something added just to connect characters quickly. I preferred when things were not explained too much. The mystery made the world feel bigger in my opinion. Once you explain everything, it becomes smaller and more fixed. Also, if this becomes canon in the games, I hope they handle it carefully. Mario games are known for simple storytelling, and I don’t want them to become too heavy with backstory. Still, I admit it answers the question about Peach being human in a strange kingdom.

This change actually makes the Mario world feel more connected. Peach being related to Rosalina gives a reason for her role that was missing before. It never made full sense why a human was leading a kingdom of mushroom people, so at least now there is a direction. Not saying it was necessary, but it does not feel out of place either. The only concern is how far they will take it. If future games start focusing too much on family connections, it might lose the simple charm. For now, it just feels like an extra layer that can be ignored or accepted depending on the player.

Not really a fan of this idea. The appeal of Mario was always how simple everything is. Peach did not need a detailed origin story to work as a character. Adding a connection to Rosalina feels like something made to please movie audiences more than game fans. There is nothing wrong with expanding characters, but this feels like a big change for something that was never a problem. It also makes the world feel smaller when everyone is connected in some way.

This kind of twist fits more with a movie than a game. Movies usually need explanations, so it makes sense they went this direction. At the same time, it feels a bit rushed. A reveal like this should have more build-up to feel important. It just appears and then moves on. The idea itself is not bad, but the execution feels weak. Maybe it will work better if they revisit it in the future.

Honestly, this is one of those changes that sounds strange at first but could grow over time. Peach and Rosalina being sisters is not something expected, but it does open up new possibilities. It could lead to more interesting interactions between characters. The key is balance. If they keep it light and don’t over-explain everything, it can fit into the Mario style without feeling forced.

There is something interesting about finally giving Peach a backstory, but this feels a bit too neat. Everything gets explained in one move, and that makes it less exciting. A slower reveal across multiple stories would have worked better. Right now, it feels like a quick solution to a long-standing question. Not bad, just not very satisfying either.

I actually like this idea about Peach and Rosalina being sisters. For me it fills a gap that was always there but never explained. I never questioned it much before, but now that they said it, it kind of makes sense. Rosalina already has that space theme, and Peach always felt a bit different from the Mushroom people. I do agree the movie tried to do too many things at once though. It felt rushed in parts, like they wanted to include every big idea without giving it time. Still, this specific detail about Peach is one of the better parts for me. If Miyamoto is really okay with it becoming part of the games, then I think fans should at least give it a chance instead of rejecting it right away. Not everything needs to stay exactly the same forever.
