Honestly, Han Yu-Kyung stole the show for me. Yes she’s awful but you understand why she turned out that way. The backstory made her actions make sense, even if I didn’t agree. Seo Jung-Eun was too saint-like sometimes, almost unrealistic. But the acting from both leads was top tier. Lee Young-Jo’s arc about rejecting his family money was refreshing.

I binged it in three days and regretted nothing. The pain-to-beauty theme is strong here. Seo Jung-Eun’s journey from orphanage to actress felt inspiring, while Han Yu-Kyung’s fall was tragic to watch. The two guys were both great in different ways, no weak link. Music, acting, story – all worked together. One of my favorite hidden K-dramas from that era. Thanks for reminding me how good it was.

This drama broke my heart in the best way. The scene where Seo Jung-Eun thanks her mom for giving birth to her… I paused and just sat there for a minute. Joo Sang-Wook’s quiet strength as Lee Young-Jo was everything. He didn’t yell or make big speeches, just showed up when it mattered. Kim Min-Jung played the ambitious role so convincingly I believed she would do anything. Great casting all around. If you want something emotional but not too cheesy, give it a try.

My late husband always liked this actress. He said he liked her big, expressive eyes. I agree she does have nice eyes. But I like her because she is an exceptional actress. My heart was with her character. I understood her pain. That's how good she acts.
