In about a week, we’ll be getting a new Game of Thrones series, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. Early buzz is very positive, with critics raving. It seems to be the most well-received GOT thing since the early seasons of the original show, so…of course HBO Max is gonna want more. And if there was any plot thread that was left more dangly in the series finale, it was Arya Stark, who left on a boat to explore “what’s west of Westeros.” It sounded like a good hook for a spinoff adventure! Too bad there was no follow-up. But could there be? A lengthy interview with George R R Martin, published today by THR, suggests one of the lead ideas being developed inside the WB factory these days is a possible Arya Stark TV show. If they’re serious, then we say it’s about time. Arya was one of the best characters in the original series; she’s been screaming to have her own show, and it feels like the kind of thing that can’t possibly go wrong (though if the series happens, that remains to be seen).
