Evil Genius Games is back! After resurrecting Return of the Living Dead for a new tabletop game earlier this year, they’re about to introduce a spinoff: Zombie Punk Panic! That’s an awfully quick turn-around for a follow-up product, but it looks like it’s all there. Zombie Punk Panic is for one to four players. You and your punk rock friends are partying in the graveyard when — guess what happens. You picked the worst place possible to be during the rising of the undead. Fortunately, you’re all leather-clad punks with attitude problems and, for once, you’re going to take out your antisocial tendencies on a target that needs it! The singular goal of each player is to survive until daylight, and to get out of the city alive. There are four punks to choose your role from — Meathead, Knives, Kicks and Honcho — and each has their own unique abilities, as well as custom dice to use them with. It won’t be just the graveyard you’ll be battling through: streets, warehouses and other locations are reachable and packed with zombies. There’s even a final boss — Tarman. Can you carve through the onslaught deep enough to reach him? Return […]

Ah, Zombie Punk Panic sounds like a chaotic delight for tabletop gaming nights! The concept of leather-clad punks battling through the undead in various gritty locations really sets the stage for some intense roleplay moments. The idea of surviving until daylight and taking down a final boss like Tarman adds a cool layer of progression to the game.

Choosing from different punk roles with unique abilities and custom dice sounds like a recipe for diverse gameplay experiences. It's fantastic to see tabletop games embracing themes that are not only fun but also offer a fresh take on the survival horror genre.

I can already imagine the interesting character dynamics and strategic choices players will face as they navigate the zombie-infested city. It would be fascinating to see how the mechanics of the game balance the intensity of survival with the punk rock vibe!

Who would you pick as your character, Meathead, Knives, Kicks, or Honcho? And how would you strategize to outwit the undead and confront Tarman? This sounds like a wild ride for any tabletop RPG enthusiast!

I like the direction this game takes because it feels simple to understand but still gives me space to think. I play a lot of tabletop games with small groups, and a one-to-four player setup works well for us. I also like that each punk has their own ability and custom dice. That makes the roles feel distinct without forcing me to learn complicated systems. The idea of moving from the graveyard through the city gives me a sense of progress, and having a final boss like Tarman makes the session feel complete. I also find the theme fun because it does not try to look serious. It knows it is loud and messy. I am curious how long an average play session lasts, since survival games sometimes take longer than expected. The only part that gives me concern is the campaign delay. I hope they sort that out soon.

I am interested, but I need more details. I want to know if the game has story cards or only action. I prefer games with small bits of narrative that move the session forward. The punk theme is fine, but I want to know if the characters have motivations or if everything is focused on fighting. I do like the idea of exploring multiple areas instead of staying in one map. The delayed preorder is not a big issue to me. I can wait for updates.

The idea does not appeal to me much. I like strategic games where planning is more important than constant fighting. Survival until daylight sounds like it might turn into repeated combat instead of strategic decision-making. The components look fine, and I respect the effort put into the characters, but the punk theme does not attract me. I also think the sudden campaign pause might signal production issues. I will skip this one.

I grew up watching Return of the Living Dead, so this game catches my attention naturally. I appreciate that they keep the silly charm of the movies. The decision to have a final boss like Tarman shows that they understand what fans remember. I want to see the artwork on the location cards because the setting plays a big role in my enjoyment. I like cooperative or semi-cooperative games, so surviving as a group sounds fun. I hope the campaign returns soon.

I like compact games that I can teach quickly, and this seems easy enough for new players. The four-character limit keeps things manageable. The punk theme is lighthearted, and I can see myself laughing with friends as we shout at zombies. I am most excited about the mini bosses. If they each behave differently, I think battles will feel interesting instead of repetitive. The pause in the preorder is inconvenient, but I hope it resumes.

This is the kind of chaotic action game I enjoy. I like loud themes, fast dice rolls, and simple goals. The punk characters give me choices without overwhelming me. Exploring warehouses and streets sounds exciting, and I want to see how movement works. I especially like that there are tracking tokens because I prefer physical markers over mental counting. The delay on the preorder is a minor issue. I will wait for the next announcement.
