The initial season of The Last Of Us, based on the video game, was a huge hit for HBO, gaining massive ratings and critical praise. It’s been a long (but typical for streaming) wait since then for the promised second season. HBO confirmed today they plan to start that season April 13, 2025. Why April 13? Because that’s five days after the 12-month bulk subscription I bought almost a year ago runs out. They did that on purpose. There still isn’t much in the way of video footage, but HBO did give the press three new posters to look at, featuring the three main characters of the season. Joel and Ellie will soon meet Abby for the first time, who is destined to bulk up and start hunting – well, we’re getting into spoilers. In fact if you’ve never played the game, you definitely shouldn’t ask anyone who has what happens, because they KNOW things — bombshell things. The pace of those bombshells might be different than it was in the game, however. HBO has implied they want The Last Of Us to be a four-season show. The first season adapted the entire first game and did so faithfully, lifting […]

I nearly spit out my coffee when I saw Kaitlyn Dever’s casting as Abby for The Last of Us Season 2— Abby was a super hated character—not just for what she did, but because she’s ugly as sin. Seriously, she’s got a face only a mother could love, and even then, it’s a stretch. Now HBO’s gone and cast a pretty woman like Kaitlyn? I’m cracking up! Maybe they think a softer look will dull the hate she got—good luck with that. I mean, sure, Dever’s talented, but Abby’s grit came from her raw, unpolished edge. Pedro and Bella are still gold, and I’m hyped for the chaos, but this? It’s like putting lipstick on a bulldog and calling it a beauty queen. Hilarious move, HBO!

Best of luck to Kaitlyn Dever stepping into Abby’s shoes for The Last of Us Season 2—seriously, she’s going to need it! April 13 is going to unleash a storm, and I’m betting she’ll need to hire security AND a therapist by episode two. Fans of this series are brutal—especially the game loyalists. Abby’s not just a character; she’s a lightning rod, and I’ve seen the venom people spew online. I’m still hyped for Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey—they’re untouchable as Joel and Ellie—but Abby’s arc? That’s where the real fireworks are. I can’t wait to see how folks who haven’t played the game react to those moments. The meltdowns on X and Threads are going to be epic—popcorn’s already prepped. Kaitlyn’s got talent, no doubt, but she’s walking into a warzone. Hope she’s ready for the hate mail, because this fandom doesn’t mess around!

I saw Kaitlyn Dever’s name pop up as Abby for The Last of Us Season 2, and I couldn’t help but laugh—did she forget her steroids in the green room? Abby in the game is a freaking beast—arms like tree trunks, ready to smash Joel and anyone else in her way. Kaitlyn’s awesome, don’t get me wrong—I loved her in Dopesick—but she’s got that petite Hollywood vibe.

I’ve been hanging out in The Last of Us fandom for a while now, and man, we can get intense. Back when Part II came out, Abby was like the ultimate trigger—people lost their minds over her part in the story. Laura Bailey, who voiced her, got hit with death threats; fans were all over her socials, acting like she’d kicked their dog or something. Even Jocelyn Mettler, the body model, caught heat—guys were whining her muscles were “too much.” It’s just a game, but you’d think it was personal! Now Season 2’s dropping April 13 with Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and it’s the same old song. “She’s not swole enough!” they’re yelling online. Season 1 had us all vibing—Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were perfect—but Abby’s a whole other vibe. Some fans just can’t chill; they take her character way too seriously. I’m all for geeking out, but going after Kaitlyn for playing a role? That’s over the top. Hopefully we’ve calmed down a bit since 2020—let’s watch, chat, and not turn it into a drama fest. Fandom’s supposed to be fun, not a fight club.

I’m stoked for The Last of Us Season 2 on April 13, but I’ve got one little gripe—they should’ve aged up Bella Ramsey’s look a bit. Ellie’s supposed to be an adult in the second game, all tough and grown-up, but Bella still looks like she’s 14. Don’t get me wrong, I know she’s in her 20s now, and she killed it in Season 1—her vibe with Pedro Pascal was spot-on. But every time I see her in those promos, I’m like, “That’s still baby Ellie!” A little makeup, some grunge, maybe a hairstyle tweak—something to match Part II’s older Ellie—would’ve sold it better. Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby looks ready to roll, and Pedro’s Joel is timeless, but Bella’s kid-face throws me off. I get they’re sticking with her talent, and I’m still hyped, but a visual glow- down could’ve bridged that game-to-show gap. Guess I’ll see how it plays out—fingers crossed she feels adult enough on screen!

I’ve been through The Last of Us grind, and trust me—folks who never played the game better grab some tissues. Forget a tiny box; you’ll need rolls of toilet paper, because tissues won’t cut it. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey had me choked up in Season 1, and what’s coming next is going to hit even harder. There’s stuff ahead that’ll gut-punch you—game fans know, but newbies? You’re in for it. I’m not spilling details, just warning you to stock up. It’s not all tears; there’s some raw, hopeful moments too. Still, I’d bet you’ll be sobbing through half of it. Don’t blame me when you’re out of TP—I’m telling you now, it’s going to wreck you emotionally. Keep the paper handy, because you’re going to need every bit of it!

I loved the first Last of Us game—total masterpiece. But Part II? Man, I hated that story with a passion. It’s not even about the graphics or gameplay; those were solid. The plot just dragged me through a mess I couldn’t stand—dark, depressing, and honestly, it felt like it was trying too hard to be edgy. I finished it, but I was mad the whole time. So now, with Season 2 of the show coming, I’m sitting here hoping the directors don’t stick to the game’s script. For once, I want them to ditch the source material and do their own thing. Keep the vibe, sure, but rewrite that trainwreck of a story. I’d love to see them take it somewhere fresher, less soul-crushing. The first season was gold; they’ve got my trust. Just please, don’t make me relive that second game’s nonsense—I’m begging for a redo!

If I were Kaitlyn Dever, I’d ditch social media for a year once Season 2 hits. Last of Us fans can be nasty—just look at the second game’s backlash. People went off, and it got ugly fast. The first season rocked, but the next one’s based on that story I hate, and I bet fans will flip out again. I wouldn’t want to deal with the hate. Twitter? Instagram? Nope, I’m gone. Let the directors handle it—I’m not sticking around for the drama. A year off sounds better than facing that crap!

I’m just hoping they don’t take a club to my heart again. I’ve got a bad feeling someone’s been practicing their backswing, and it’s not for a friendly putt-putt. The game left me feeling like I’d been teed up and whacked into the rough—no mulligans there. Pedro Paschal will be hating golf
