“Missing: The Other Side” is a Korean drama series with two seasons. S1 was released in 2020 and S2 in 2022, but was recently added to Netflix USA. It’s 2025. Only took 3 years, but any fan of Go Soo is willing to wait! The series continues to find the bodies of people who went missing. Their souls are in a “temporary place” on the “Other Side”. They can’t leave until their bodies are found. SUMMARY: Two men who thought they been cured, i.e. they could no longer see ghosts, started seeing ghosts again. That meant they had to help them find their missing bodies. ♦ We’re Seeing Ghosts Again! Kim Wook and Jang Pan Seok used to see dead people. They even discovered an entire village full of dead people. Both men were looking for missing persons. Jang Pan Seok wanted to find his daughter and Kim Wook thought his mother had abandoned him. Both men had a near-death experience and that’s probably why they could see dead people. But they didn’t see all dead people. Just people who went missing and their bodies had not been found. I just started watching this on Netflix, and I’m already hooked. I had no idea it was released years ago! The atmosphere is so unique, and the way they balance mystery with emotion keeps me invested. I like that it doesn’t feel like a typical crime drama—it’s more thoughtful, almost poetic. I’m not sure if I want a third season, though. Some shows are better off ending on a high note rather than dragging things out.

Go Soo is always worth watching, no matter what the project is. His ability to convey quiet intensity is perfect for a show like this, where so much depends on emotional nuance. And Heo Jun-Ho? Underrated. He always brings depth to every role. Even if the script had issues, I’d still watch just for the performances. Korean dramas often shine because of their actors, and this show is no exception.

What interests me most is how this show brings attention to missing persons cases. Fiction can be powerful when it highlights real-world issues, and the statistics in this article are staggering. Too often, these cases get overlooked, especially when the victims come from marginalized communities. I hope Missing: The Other Side sparks discussions beyond just entertainment—maybe even encourages better systems for tracking and solving these disappearances.

I liked Season 1 well enough, but I’m not convinced this premise has long-term staying power. The problem with shows like this is that they rely too much on emotional weight, and once you’ve seen the formula play out, it starts to lose impact. Yes, the themes are meaningful, and yes, the characters are compelling, but does every ghost story really need a drawn-out investigation? If they make a third season, they need to shake things up—maybe introduce a twist where not all ghosts are victims.

I have been patiently waiting and when it finally appeared in my recommendation list, I thought it was a mistake. LOL.

That is what I like about it. There were shows on American TV about missing persons I liked to watch. I sit on pins and needles until they find the person.
