Did you ever play Dark Souls and think “this isn’t dark enough; if there was only a Darker Souls I would be truly happy”? Publisher Maximum Entertainment and developer Still Running have you covered. They’ve just introduced something they call Morbid: The Lords of Ire to the market, and rest assured, it is a Soulslike darker than the darkest dark. This is the same team behind the critically acclaimed isometric ARPG Morbid: The Seven Acolytes, but they decided to go a different direction with the sequel, setting it in a 3D perspective. Your simple goal is to battle as many creatures as possible and stay alive long enough to get stronger, at which point you can survive against even tougher monsters, and on in that circle. The dangerous land of Ire will keep you on your toes as you journey through five distinct areas — wintry mountains to rotten cities and beyond. Lords Of Ire uses the same “mental” health system seen in Acolytes, which means you have a mental

Another Soulslike? Sign me up! I loved the first Morbid, and the isometric perspective was interesting, but a 3D world sounds even better. "Darker than the darkest dark"? Challenge accepted. Bring on the monstrous creatures and twisted landscapes! Just gotta be careful not to go full Insanity, that XP penalty is rough.

Five distinct areas to explore? Wintery mountains, rotten cities... sounds like a good variety. I gotta see all of that! Wonder if there's any hidden lore or secrets scattered throughout the world. The Striver is back, huh? I gotta finish the first Morbid before I jump into this one. Don't want to miss any references or story connections. Guess I have my weekend plans figured out!

I like a challenge, but I don't want to get endlessly frustrated. Is the difficulty customizable? The mental health system is interesting, but will it be confusing to manage in the heat of battle? Maybe I'll wait for some reviews before I take the plunge. In the meantime, I can check out some gameplay videos to see if the combat clicks with me.

Honestly, I’m a bit skeptical about Morbid: The Lords of Ire. The mental health system sounds innovative, but it could also make the game frustratingly difficult. I remember struggling with the high difficulty curve in Dark Souls, and this seems to take it to another level. The 3D perspective is a nice change, but I wonder if it will capture the same charm as the isometric view in Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. I’m cautious but curious, especially since it’s available on multiple platforms. Maybe I’ll wait for some reviews before diving in.

I’m really drawn to the idea of a game that’s even darker than Dark Souls. The mental health system is a unique twist that could make the gameplay really dynamic, depending on whether you lean towards Enlightenment or Insanity. I love games that force you to make strategic decisions, and this sounds like it will do just that. Plus, the variety in environments from wintry mountains to rotten cities should keep things interesting. I’m definitely going to check this out on my PS5.

I’m not entirely sold on Morbid: The Lords of Ire. The mental health mechanic seems intriguing, but I’m worried it might complicate things too much. Games like Dark Souls are already tough, and adding this extra layer could either be genius or just plain frustrating. That said, the different environments and the return of the Striver sound promising. I guess I’ll have to see how well they’ve implemented these features. It’s cool that it’s available on so many platforms, though. I might give it a shot on the Switch and see how it goes.

Morbid: The Lords of Ire appear to like its dark and frightening atmosphere. While I like the effort to create a Souls-like experience that pushes the limits of gloom, I hope gameplay depth is not sacrificed for sheer grimness. The introduction of the mental health system is an intriguing choice, though I'm curious about how it will be executed well without being gimmicky. Nonetheless, I'm cautiously hopeful about exploring Ire's gloomy landscapes and partaking in intense combat encounters.

The announcement of Morbid: The Lords of Ire has certainly generated buzz within the gaming community. As a fan of challenging and atmospheric experiences, I'm intrigued by the promise of a darker Soulslike adventure. The transition to a 3D perspective offers new opportunities for exploration and immersion, while the inclusion of the mental health system adds an interesting layer of depth to gameplay mechanics. I'm eager to embark on this journey through the dangerous land of Ire and test my skills against its formidable foes.
