Shin Se-kyung is a popular South Korean actress who started her career in the entertainment industry as a child. However, my first introduction to her was in the award-winning television series Six Flying Dragons (2015–2016). She was the woman the king loved but he could never possess. Her performance was impressive. After watching that series, I earnestly searched for her in other Korean dramas.

Ever since I witnessed Shin Se-kyung's mesmerizing performance in Six Flying Dragons, I have been a fan. She portrayed Boon Yi as a strong-willed lady, and she had a profound impression on me. She and Lee Bang-Won had such genuine chemistry that they were deserving winners of the Best Couple Award. Anyone interested in historical Korean television series should watch this drama immediately.

Shin Se-kyung's ability shines brightly in the fantasy genre, and Six Flying Dragons is a prime example. Despite not being of the aristocratic class, she portrayed a character with unlimited compassion and knowledge as Boon Yi. Her strong will to be self-sufficient and dedicated to assisting ordinary people made her a very remarkable protagonist. Her onscreen chemistry with Lee Bang-Won was evident, adding to the intrigue of their love tale.

One of my particular faves is Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung, in which Shin Se-kyung portrays the tenacious female historian Goo Hae-ryung. Her determination to pursue her career and break social norms was motivational. Her and Prince Dowon's connection gave the story more depth and romance, which made it entertaining to witness.
