"I like how the show uses a historical setting to examine difficult themes like betrayal, loyalty, and redemption. The way Lady Min Jae Yi's character adjusts and overcomes challenges, whether it's by dressing up as a eunuch or using her intellect to solve crimes, is very interesting.

Lady Min Jae Yi is not your average gal - she's out there solving mysteries like it's nobody's business, all while disguised as a eunuch! Talk about some major brain power and bravery right there, folks. And don't even get me started on the curse that's haunting Crown Prince Lee Hwan. It's got everything you want in a plot device - suspense, drama, and some seriously spooky stuff. I mean, who wouldn't be hooked on the idea of a ghost letter and a prophecy of doom? It's enough to send shivers down anyone's spine. But let's not forget about Lady Min Jae Yi's family secrets. Her dad's last words were all about protecting the Crown Prince, which raises some serious questions. What else did her family know? What other secrets are lurking around the corner? I don't know about you, but I'm

For a country that doesn't want to restore their monarchy, South Korea surely loves making shows about Royals,

Our Blooming youth is an absolutely beautiful series. It's a show about friendship, trust, sacrifice and forgiveness. I have ended up watching it multiple times and each time I find something new. For me, the romance stands out because it's so different from all other tropes we see. It's not passionate (no true romantic scenes) but is mature, yet cute, based on rock solid friendship, trust and need for each other - the kind that will grow old even their gorgeous looks fade away. "Always by your side, always be with you" is their theme, even when they know in their hearts they are both completely out of each other's reach. She is his best friend's fiancee (she does not have a choice to make a different call by societal rules) and he is the most unattainable man in all of Josean that she could imagine. The fact that CP's best friend, the Sargent, is still hung up on the broken marriage and a portait of a woman he has never seen does not help matters. Yet their heart does not listen to reason. The Crown Prince keeps pushing her away even though his heart breaks, while she is determined to cherish whatever little time she has left with him. Unrequited love at its best, Romance is just the vehicle that carries the narrative forward. Park Hyung Sik stands out as the Crown Prince. He has trust issues as big as blackholes, is lonely, hurt, angry and terrified, but determined to not let the mysterious forces against him win. Jeon so Nee as Min Jay Yi is refreshingly smart, logical, emotional and impulsive, all at the same time. She is also exceptionally brave and breaks all Josean stereotypes of who a woman should be (merely an object with no rights of their own). She is contract bound by family to marry a man she has never met, and makes peace wth it, even convinces herself she likes it, until she meets the CP and falls in love. She is not out to challenge the society, just carve a space for herself where she can be free to make some choices if not all. But first and foremost, they both need to save each other - one from the curse, and the other from accusations of murdering her own family. In the process, they become each others' shadows, best friends, confidants and eventually find their way to each others' heart. Both of them learn something from the other - one learns to trust, the other learns to forgive. Their chemistry is fantastic. What they don't know is that they are dealing with problems that are way bigger than what shows up. The side characters, especially Myung Jin and Ga Ram are a lot of fun. These two, along with CP and his Eunuch in disguise, form a detective team that eventually resolve most of the mysteries. The best thing about the show is that there are no plot holes. The show focusses a lot on character graph and building of relationships and laying the groundwork (first 10 episodes). The last 10 resolves the mystery. It's a rare gem and more people need to watch it.
