During the 2015 Tokyo Game Show, Ubisoft revealed the first Hero class character for the Samurai faction in the upcoming hack and slash video game For Honor. You can check out the first reveal of the Oni, also known as “The Chosen,” in the player below. The character was originally unveiled at Sony’s press conference during the convention.
The Oni is a swift and lethal duelist character who slays his enemies with quickness and skill. The character uses a Japanese katana and strikes fear into his opponents with special abilities such as poisoning his blade, throwing kunai knives and unleashing an Arrow Storm. It will be interesting to see the other hero characters Ubisoft adds to the game in the coming months.
The game drops players into the middle of an ongoing war between the three Great Factions: The bold Knights (the Legions), the brutal Vikings (the Warborn) and the enigmatic Samurai (the Chosen). Players can choose which warrior they want to play among the Heroes set from this pantheon, and then use their distinct skills and weapons to fight for their faction, while decimating soldiers, archers and opposing heroes. The game will also feature both multiplayer and single-player campaigns.
For Honor is scheduled for a 2016 release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC
