Jessica Jones Season 2 and The Punisher are in the can, but we still don’t know when either of them will grace Netflix. Next up on the filming schedule is the second season of Luke Cage, which is in progress now. EW scored a couple exclusive screenshots from the set.
The most important thing that happened in The Defenders, even more significant than all four Netflix Marvel heroes teaming up, was that Detective Misty Knight finally had her arm chopped off. Fans of Misty in the comics have been waiting for this for a long time ever since her first appearance, because in the comics, Misty has a rad bionic arm.
Misty’s arm, a gift from Tony Stark, can do all sorts of things: hack robots, lift 100-pound slabs of concrete, and even create energy blasts and gravity shields. It effectively turns Misty into a superhero herself, though she prefers staying on the force. Now we know what the arm will look like on Luke Cage Season 2…

As for who built it this time, we don’t know. Probably not Tony Stark since his use is off-limits. Most likely Danny Rand paid for it with his zillions of dollars, but nothing’s been confirmed. Speaking of the whiniest spoiled brat in Hell’s Kitchen, guess who’s also been confirmed to show up?

Yup…no getting around it, Iron Fist is in Luke Cage Season 2. The ending scenes of Defenders showed Rand preparing to start Heroes For Hire, the super-partnership he founds with Cage in the comics. Iron Fist is a pretty significant part of Luke Cage’s story; we’re just going to have to put up with him. At least he’s not any of the Inhumans.
The second season of Luke Cage will premiere in Netflix sometime in 2018.
