SUMMARY: Three men on a mission. One is a secret agent, the other a North Korean operative, and the third is a gangster. They’re the best of the best. But they don’t have the secret to eternal youth. What happens when they go on a mission, lose the “item”, and their fight with each other ends in a tie? Time passes, and they’ve gotten older. Older and wiser? Eh! Let’s just say they have other priorities.
In “Fifties Professionals”, it’s 2026, and three men have resigned themselves to living a quiet life on a lovely island. That’s not so bad considering they delayed their mission.
Jung Ho-Myung, a secret agent for the NIS, has settled down, has a wife, a son, and a kind father-in-law. His doctor told him that he’s going through menopause, likely due to decreased testosterone. If not treated, the symptoms could get worse. You don’t want to know what the symptoms are.
Bong Je-Soon, a North Korean operative, is undergoing hypnotherapy because he can’t even remember who he is. A kind stranger took him in because he had nowhere to go. He’s an office worker who gets bullied by co-workers and doesn’t fight back.
Kang Beom-Ryong, the gangster (whose boss has ties to the corrupt people in the NIS), now runs a convenience store and hopes to win the heart of a young female police officer who is a regular customer. He dreams of the possibility of them living “happily ever after”.
In 2016, their lives were not so quiet. They were all sent on a mission, but their mission was never completed. Even though it’s been 10 years, they simply can not erase the past and continue forward, because … their paths cross again.
Their present lives get disrupted when the truth behind a failed mission resurfaces. Forced back into action, they uncover buried secrets, rediscover their identities, and prove that the second half of life still holds explosive potential.
Will they complete the mission this time? Perhaps. But one thing they know for certain. Life doesn’t end at fifty.

My personal rating is the same as the Viki viewers.
Have you ever wondered why secret agents, going on 50, still fight and have energy like they’re still in their twenties? It’s probably because they don’t. The ageless 007s are just made up for the movies and television. In real life … everybody gets old, including secret agents. “Fifties Professionals” presents a realistic but funny fictional picture of what happens to top professionals who are no longer in their prime. It has been described as a refreshing, high-energy Korean drama that proves age is no barrier to style and humor.
