FFVII Remake to Have New Battle System, Certain Changes Inspired By Advent Children
For the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake, many fans have wondered just how differently the game will look aside from the visuals. Many want a new battle system, possibly one more reflective of the new time video games are in. In a recent interview, FFVII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura, has told the PlayStation Magazine (via Games Radar) that the game will have a new battle system. But it won’t something that’ll shatter what you might expect.
“We’re not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that,” Nomura told Official PlayStation Magazine. “We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it’s still recognizable.”
Also, he noted that the visuals for the characters were going to be inspired by the spinoff film Advent Children. However, those models won’t be the ones the developers will use for the game:
“Don’t intend on utilizing the 3D models of Advent Children as is because, well, it’s a different technology, and it’s actually been almost ten years since Advent Children was first released.”
The upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake is being developed for the PlayStation 4. Release details have not yet been announced, but they will be revealed later on.
