The Harry Potter universe expanded last year with the arrival of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. The film followed future famed author Newt Scamander as he tried to not only reclaim his lost magical creatures, but also, stop an act of evil in 1927 New York.
The twist though was that at the end of the film, an auror played by Colin Banks was actually the infamous wizard Grindenwald, and played by Johnny Depp. In a press release, Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them two confirms that not only will Newt and the rest of the main cast of the original film will return, but that Newt will have to team with a young Albus Dumbledore to catch Grindenwald, who has escaped from the prison he was put in.
“The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law),” reads the plot description, “but Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.”
Fantastic Beasts 2 is set to arrive November 18th, 2018.
