Fable Legends Cancelled
Fable Legends, the free-to-play RPG by Lionhead that was set in the Fable universe has been cancelled, as reported by Lionhead on their forums:
“Today we announced that we have made the difficult decision to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios. These decisions were not made lightly, nor do they reflect the talent of the studio, rather they are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and engaging to play.
We want to thank all the players who participated in the closed beta and who helped with the development of Fable Legends.”
The title had only been in Beta, and that Beta will be open for a month before it shuts down permanently:
“The decision has been made to stop development on Fable Legends, and the service will cease to be available after 15:00 GMT on Wednesday 13 April 2016. Players who already have access to the closed beta will be able to continue playing the game until this time.
Gold purchases from the in-game bank will be disabled with immediate effect.
No new players will be admitted to the closed beta.”
Additionally, all in-game purchases will be refunded to gamers.
