Hot off the heels of the announcement that classic “Kombatant” Reptile was returning for Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios announced that yet another character is set to return for the highly anticipated fighting game sequel. That returning character is none other than
Ermac was revealed in an extended Mortal Kombat X gameplay session on Twitch.tv channel for NetherRealm Studios. The full video for the Twitch session is available below. The Ermac reveal trailer begins at 14:45 of the video. Ermac is the 10th classic returning character for the game’s Kombatant roster and the 14th overall. Of course, one of the big new features for Mortal Kombat X is that each fighter has three unique gameplay variations. Ermac’s variations include Spectral, Mystic and Master of Souls. Mystic provides Ermac with the telekinetic abilities. Spectral gives Ermac flying abilities and unique aerial moves. Finally, Master of Souls allows Ermac to use soul energy balls, and the Vanish technique to better avoid damage.
There are still a number of characters, including new characters, that NetherRealm Studios has yet to reveal for the game. Still, two returning characters announced in one week was pretty nice. Mortal Kombat X is due out on April 14. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
