Dragon Quest XI Confirmed for Nintendo Switch
Nintendo has released a new blog on its Japan website that confirmed that Dragon Quest XI is set to launch for the new Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch, when the game launches in 2017. The game is also set for a release on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4.
You can also check out two new gameplay videos for the 3DS and PlayStation 4 versions that were recently released during Jump Festa 2017. The videos show off the gameplay for both the 3DS and console versions of the new Dragon Quest installment.
It should be noted Square Enix also issued a press release today on the game’s release that does not list the Nintendo Switch as one of its platforms. However, the Nintendo blog clearly mentions it being developed for Nintendo Switch as well. Earlier this year, there was talk of the game getting a Switch, then under the codename of the NX, release. However, Square reps later backtracked and the title was labeled as being “under consideration” for Nintendo’s new hardware. This is at least a solid confirmation on Nintendo’s part.
During the Jump Festa 2017, Makuhari Messe unveiled the videos below, along with the image of the new hero character, Camus, who you can also see below. Dragon Quest XI arrives later next year for Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
