Destiny: New Extended Video Released for The Taken King Expansion
Bungie and Activision have finally blown the lid off the next major expansion pack for their hit franchise Destiny in The Taken King. The expansion will mark the end of Year One of Destiny and mark the beginning of Destiny: Year Two. In addition, the Bungie team has just released a new first look ViDoc for Destiny: The Taken King, showcasing the latest threat to the solar system and all that is good in the universe with Oryx, the father of Crota. The new video is available below. It is the same video Activision was showing to attendees at this year’s E3 before they got a chance to play one of the game’s new multiplayer modes.
In The Taken King, Oryx leads an army of corrupted Taken against the Guardians of the City. However, the Guardians will be able to fight back with new powers in the form of a new subclass for the Hunters, Titans and Warlocks. The video reveals that the story missions start when the Guardians go to Phobos after intercepting a Cabal distress signal. The Cabal are actually fleeing from an attack by the forces of Oryx and his Corrupted soldiers.
Oryx’s design definitely looks interesting, along with his ominous ship, the Dreadnaught, which is like a flying space fortress. However, with all these new bells and whistles, it appears the burning questions from all the vague issues presented from the game at launch will not be addressed. That is still a major problem for Destiny.
Destiny: The Taken King will launch on September 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In addition, Activision will also release a Legendary and Collectors’ Editions for the game in the fall.
