There is a technical divide when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel/Netflix TV shows. On one hand, they all inhabit the same universe. The Netflix shows prove this by referencing the MCU movies during its stories. However, no attempt has been made as of yet to bring the characters from the Netflix series to the movies. At one point, there was a rumor that Charlie Cox’ Daredevil would show up in Civil War at some point, but that’s been debunked. That’s sad because according to Cox, his version of Daredevil would fit right in with the other Avengers.
“Some people have said that they wonder about, based on the tone the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers,” Cox told ComicBook.com. Well, the actor has some comic book knowledge to drop on you, doubters. “I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock… is kind of an ass. He’s in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we’re not doing that’ or something to that effect, and I’m like, ‘That’s the character, we’re fine.’ So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on point and he’d be a perfect fit in the larger MCU.”
We’ll just have to settle for Daredevil Season 2 on Netflix, which arrives tomorrow on Netflix. All 13 episodes of Season 2 will be available to stream at launch.
